The Bombay high court’s proposal for the appointment of eighteen Lawyers & 4 Judicial Officers as Judges of the High Court has run into serious problem in the SC Collegium with senior Supreme Court Judges red-flagging the “hasty” process of selection & the “integrity” of the candidates. HC upholds bail granted to man accused of being ISIS recruit; Court praises accused who argued own case
On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court upheld the bail granted to 27-year-old Areeb Majeed, a Kalyan resident, who was arrested in November 2014 for having travelled to Iraq and Syria to join the global terrorist outfit, ISIS. Majeed is the only ISIS recruit to have returned to India.
